Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health that supports your body’s natural ability to heal. It focuses on addressing the root causes of health concerns rather than just managing symptoms. I use tools like nutrition, lifestyle support, herbal medicine, and education to help you feel your best — without the overwhelm.
2. Do I have to choose between naturopathy and conventional medicine?
Not at all. I truly value the role of Western medicine and believe the best care happens when all parts of your health team work together. I’m more than happy to collaborate alongside your GP, specialist, or other health professionals to make sure your care is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs.
3. What can I expect from my first consultation?
Your initial consult is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk through your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals. From there, we’ll work together to build a personalised, practical plan that fits your life. This may include diet and lifestyle suggestions, stress support, and (if needed) gentle herbal or nutritional prescriptions.
4. Do you prescribe supplements or herbal medicine?
Yes — when needed. I try to keep prescriptions minimal and only suggest supplements or herbs when I truly think they’ll help. My main goal is to equip you with simple tools you can use long term, without overwhelming you or your budget.
5. How long will it take to see results?
This really depends on your health goals, how long the issue has been going on, and how consistently we work together. Some people notice changes in a few weeks, while others might need more time and support. I’ll always be honest with you about what to expect.
6. Can you help with [insert condition]?
While I don’t treat diseases or conditions in the same way a doctor would, I can absolutely support your overall health and wellbeing alongside any diagnoses. Whether it’s energy, digestion, stress, sleep, or something else, I focus on you as a whole person — not just your symptoms.
7. Can you help diagnose [insert condition]?
I can help you explore what might be going on by looking at your signs and symptoms, and give you a clearer understanding of your overall health picture. However, formal medical diagnoses need to come from your GP or specialist. If something comes up during our consults that needs further investigation, I’m more than happy to support you with a referral or letter for your doctor so we can work together to get the answers you need.
8. Do you offer stool testing or other types of pathology?
Yes — I can organise in-depth functional testing, including comprehensive stool analysis and other relevant pathology where needed. These tests can give us valuable insights into what’s happening inside your body and help guide your treatment plan more effectively. If you're unsure whether testing is right for you, we can chat about it during your consultation.
9. Do you offer in-person consultations?
I work entirely online! That means you can access naturopathic care from the comfort of your home, no matter where you are in Australia. All sessions are held via video call, and I’ll make sure everything is easy to access and navigate.
10. Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is needed — just book in when you’re ready. If you have any questions before getting started, feel free to book in for a free Discovery Call.
11. Do you offer concession or senior discounts?
Yes — I do offer discounts for concession card holders and seniors. To access these rates, just send me an email directly and I’ll help you get set up.
